Shake The Crave Product Review

I was recently sent a sample of Shake the Crave vanilla shake mix and chocolate shake mix to try.  Shake the crave is like a meal replacement shake that is specially formulated using only 100% pure ingredients that help you to feel full longer and boost energy levels helping with weight loss.  You won't find anything artificial in this mix!

These shakes are supposed to be blended with milk then other ingredients such as fruits and veggies can be added as you wish.  They can be eaten instead of a snack or a meal.  I mixed the chocolate one with frozen raspberries and milk and it was delicious like a thick chocolate shake that was sweet enough to make me think I was being really indulgent yet I'm having something healthy.  The vanilla one I had with banana and milk and you can taste the real vanilla bean flavour.  Although I did enjoy both I do prefer the chocolate one.

Based on flavour alone this shake is delicious.  I am part of a ninety day testing opportunity with these shakes meaning I'm having them two times a day as directed along with an exercise program so stay tuned for my results from putting this product to the test!

I was provided this product for review purposes free of charge from Trusted Health Products and all opinions on this blog are my own.

Garnier Fructis #ColorShield Review

I colour my hair at home a few times a year because I'm getting older and like to hide the gray hair and I'm too cheap to visit the salon all the time for upkeep.  I often choose red which unfortunately seems to fade the fastest.  I was sent these products through Influenster to use on my coloured hair.  They claim to protect and shield hair colour from fade out, wash out and dry out.

First of all I love the light fruity smell which seems quite common with the fructis line of hair products.  The leave in shine spray in particular has a delicious cinnamon - pomegranate scent.  I found the shampoo feels quite heavy on the hair like it's coating it but it rinses out nicely leaving my hair squeaky clean.  The conditioner is thin but effective so you end up using less of it.  The leave in spray I use if I will be blow drying my hair and it seems to protect from the heat of the blow dryer.  Overall I would use the products but they wouldn't be my first choice.  I still love the Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser line best!

I can't really comment on how well these products keep colour from fading as I've only been using them for a week so far which isn't long enough to assess that.  Hopefully the #ColorShield will live up to it's name and my hair will remain a vibrant red for longer than usual.

Impressed with imPRESS Press-On Manicure by Broadway Nails #imPRESSmanicure

I have a good set of strong nails but I don't usually take the time to paint them as it doesn't last.  In my line of work I use my hands a lot for most of six hours and they also spend a good chunk of time wet or submerged in water.  In such conditions any nail polish I might have on wears off and looks awful usually after just a few hours into a shift then on my days off I just don't always find the time to paint them.

For parties and other occasions it's nice to have painted nails but my own aren't always the same length when I need them to be or in good condition so that's where imPRESS Press-On Manicure works very well.  It took me about two minutes to figure out which nail goes where and to peel off the backings and press them on.  So simple and it turned out fantastic!  I decided to leave them on while I went to work and went about my everyday life to see how long they lasted.  On the package it says up to one week.  Well for me they started lifting up in the middle of day three.  Considering I worked two of those three days I think that's pretty good.  The polish doesn't wear off either.  I have never worn any type of fake or press on nails ever but it didn't really take long to get used to them but I don't think I could ever get used to working in them as I like to use my nails at work.

Removal is just as easy.  The ends were beginning to lift on a few of them so I gently slid a nail under the press on one and slowly peeled it off and the ones that weren't lifted I slowly peeled them off from the sides and it didn't hurt of leave any sticky residues on my nails.  My own nails look great and don't show signs that anything was stuck to them.  Although I wouldn't wear press on nails such as this all the time I'd definitely keep a set or two around for those times I'd like to add a little pizazz to my look.

Beautiful A.M. Moisturizer and P.M. Revitalizer Review and Giveaway!

I have crap facial skin and always have as long as I can remember.  I'm pretty sure I have rosacea but it's never been diagnosed except by Dr Google and there's been times my cheeks are so dry they are like alligator skin and I've been prescribed cream for that time to time.  I also have breakouts somewhat often.

Though I've never officially seen a doctor for my face she had mentioned in the past that I could get it fixed but at what cost?  Yes I'd love to have that smooth, creamy complexion but I've made do for almost 38 yrs with the skin I was born with and I can't say it's really negatively affected my life in any way.  That being said I do wear foundation on a daily basis to lessen the redness.

I'm always willing to try new products on my face in an effort to find anything that may help but I'm not willing to do trial and error with products that cost $20-30  or more a bottle.  I was approached by Trusted Health Products at http://www.trustedhealthproducts.com/ to try their pure and natural Beautiful A.M. Moisturizer and P.M. Revitalizer.

First of all I love the way it smells like fruity oils.  It makes sense because it is a mixture of oils including fruit oils and it also goes on nice and smooth as an oil should.  It's good for all skin types and basically replaces everything and anything you would use on your skin (except makeup if you wish) and would be the only 2 products you would need making it cheaper overall.  Beautiful is food for your skin and the bottles even come personalized with your name on it.  There is also a men's line as well.  Apparantly it takes about 30 days for Beautiful to detoxify your skin so I followed the directions putting 3 or more drops on each cheek and using my finger to spread on the skin, not rub in.  I did this for 30 days.  I didn't notice a huge change in the look of my skin overall but people have said I look younger and my skin looks better.  I do know that it feels smoother and my acne is gone even at that time of the month.  My foundation also goes on a lot smoother and doesn't have that "caked on" look where my skin was so dry.  Only issue I have had is in the morning my skin still looks dry whereas when I was using my regular moisturizer it didn't.  This could be because I'm not using enough for my skin and because it can take up to 90 days to see the full effects of this product I'm willing to keep using it.  It has not helped much with my rosacea but I didn't expect it to.  Overall I think it's a great product and I'm leaning towards using it to replace the several bottles of product I currently use.

Bikini Body Mommy Challenge

This year one of my resolutions along with millions of others I'm sure, is to workout more.  I decided to follow the Bikini Body Mommy challenge!  For me because I am usually with my 2 kids when I'm not at work I needed something that could be done at home and didn't take up a ton of time or use equipment I don't have.

The Bikini Body Mommy Challenge is perfect for me!  The challenge lasts 90 days and workouts change between strength training and cardio days.  Most importantly they can be done at home, most are under 20 minutes and I don't need anything more than hand weights.

I am on day 13 so far and loving it!  I'm feeling stronger, sleeping better and just feel physically and mentally awesome!  The kids are pretty good for the 20 minutes I spend in front of the computer bringing me my yoga mat and chair and doing some of the exercises with me.  There's a fit test that's done a few times along the way that shows you how you are getting stronger.  I'm looking forward to the next 77 days that are left and seeing great results at the end of this challenge.

For my diet I am simply following my fitness pal and using the app on my phone to track my food intake.

What are you doing this year to keep fit?

Weekly Meal Plan

It's a new year so here's to keeping up with my meal plans.  Can't make any promises though as life always gets in the way and now that I'm committed to working out and other stuff blogging my meal plans may fall down the list though I do meal plan for each and every week so it's really not much of an effort for me to post.

1.  Turkey Broccoli Divan - it doesn't say to but I served over rice and this finally used up what was left of the turkey
2.  Cashew Chicken - I cannot find a recipe
3.  Fish + veggies - Just using frozen breaded cod
4.  Pasta sauce - not following a recipe just throwing this together with meat, sauce and lots of veggies than serving mine over zoodles.  The kids will have pasta.
5.  Savory Sausage and Rice Skillet - yum!
